GiGi is the e-scooter to go

Based on a design study of the Dutch company GiGi, GOVECS is the commissioned co-developer and OEM manufacturer for this smart foldable scooter. You could thus transport it in your trunk or in public transportation or keep it space-saving in your apartment.

“We contacted GOVECS with the order to develop a prototype and bring it to the production stage. GOVECS is the E-bike specialist that is renowned in the industry. We have found a team here that does not only bring our design on the street, but also integrates an outstanding technology in its products“, says Stijn Enneking, CEO of GiGi Coöperatief U.A..

Silent, emission-free, comfortable and efficient is what we wanted. And then also compact so that it is easier to take it with you on the train, in the bus or the ferry.

Thomas Grübel, CEO of GOVECS GmbH explains: „We have a brand new product that facilitates the way to work and makes it more comfortable. With GiGi an exciting market is opened up to GOVECS. And the product shows how excellently our development team masters all challenges it encounters.“ The compact midget closes the transportation gap in commuter traffic. Thomas Grübel comments further: „The traffic situation in many cities necessitates a whole new way of thinking in the near future. In order to avoid collapsing traffic in the years to come, the cities and municipalities, companies and private people have to find new concepts and support them.

Electric scooters are a reliable vehicle alternative for private persons, sharing providers and company fleets.“ For users of the public transportation network GiGi is closing a transportation gap.

OEM service offerings for GIGI

In November 2014, Joe Wilcox, founder and CEO of the American company SWAY Motorsports, approached our booth at the EICMA trade fair in Milan. He brought with him an Alpha prototype of his latest developments and the recommendation that GOVECS had “the guys that are able to implement that”.

Interview @ How it Works

Govecs are a German company who believe that electric powered scooters are the future. Concentrating on sales to private enterprises rather than the average consumer, Govecs could revolutionise delivery services. Just imagine the reduction in emissions if every takeaway in Europe used electric scooters rather than the carbon equivalents that currently dominate the market. We chat to CEO Thomas Grübel about his vision.
