GOVECS introduces the fastest production Schwalbe in the world

After the Schwalbe had made a successful comeback as an electric scooter, GOVECS has doubled the speed of this cult two-wheeler, making history once again. Never before has a Schwalbe (German for swallow) flown so fast. With a top speed of 90 km/h and a range of up to 90 km, the new GOVECS light motorcycle is also winning the hearts of a technology-oriented target group in search of adrenaline. One outstanding feature of the new Schwalbe is the Bosch-made drive system with a maximum output of 8 kW. In addition to unparalleled driving pleasure, the Schwalbe also offers high safety and reliability “designed in Germany”.

Connectivity is everything

Networking that is advancing at breathtaking speed is revolutionising all areas of our lives. This is especially the case for transport. Experts expect that even in the near future 80% fewer cars will be congesting the roads in our towns because more and more people are switching from their own vehicles to sharing models. And these are based on intelligent connectivity solutions.

Second production line

In Q1/2016 GOVECS established its second production line. The length of 33 meters allows a parallel assembly of up to 5 vehicles. Additionally GOVECS installed 12 workstations for the sub-assembly. The line is equipped with 2 gantries for the transport for heavy components.

Scooter sharing from Cityscoot now in Paris. With 150 GOVECS electric scooters, Cityscoot launched the first scooter sharing in Paris. The electric scooters are available in an area of 33km². The scooters are equipped with a changeable battery and the team of Cityscoot replaces the empty ones with fully-charged ones.

As of today, the firm, with production now based in Germany, claims to have sold over 900 units all over Europe, and a few of them even in the USA.

In May 2015, Joe Wilcox, Sway’s founder, went on the famous TV show “Shark Tank”, where aspiring entrepreneurs pitch their new product or company to a panel of potential investors. One of them, Mark Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks basketball team, agreed to invest $300,000 in Sway Motorsports in exchange for 30% of the company.

GOVECS Takes Over Vectrix Plant

Munich, July 13, 2015. The assembly line of the US maxiscooter manufacturer Vectrix in Wroclaw, Poland, was set to produce the “smart e-scooter” by Daimler AG. This endeavor came to an abrupt end when Vectrix had to file for bankruptcy and subsequently the smart e-scooter never left the prototype phase. Now GOVECS is resurrecting the cutting-edge production plant. As part of an asset deal the company is taking over the complete machinery as well as the inventory of Vectrix and will be integrating them into their own 4,000 m2 high-tech facilities in Breslau. The deal is both a strategic success as well as a necessary next step for GOVECS which is experiencing flourishing consumer business and B2B expansion in both Europe and the USA. The acquisition quadruples GOVECS production volume to more than 20,000 vehicles per year.
