GOVECS products are different, different with respect to both their European design and their main technical attribute: the drive train. Due to clever engineering all GOVECS machines have smooth handling and True Electric Mobility.

We are using highly efficient and sophisticated brushless motors with a low-maintenance belt drive which makes the machines much lighter. The frame is designed exclusively for the use and purpose of electric vehicles, by means of which the centre of gravity is extremely low, thus leading to great manoeuvrability.

FAQ

How much are the travel costs?

The travel costs are below 1€ per 100 km. The exact electricity costs or the necessary kilowatt hours are calculated on the basis of the consumption and the electricity tariffs.

How can I charge my GOVECS electric scooter?

All GOVECS vehicles can be charged through the integrated charger by simply plugging it in at any socket.

What is the expected lifetime of my GOVECS battery?

The high-quality Lithium-ion batteries last at least 50.000 km. Further information can be found in the vehicle information.

When should I charge the battery?

Since the batteries used by GOVECS don’t have a memory effect, it is possible to charge them at any time, without having to fear any disadvantages for the durability of the battery. It even prolongs the lifetime of the battery.

Is it allowed to drive on the street with the GOVECS electric scooters?

Our electric scooters have a full EU homologation. For the usage in Germany the models up to 45 km/h require a driver’s license class B (car driving licence) or AM (scooter driving licence); for the faster model you need the driver’s license class A1 (motorcycle driving licence).

Are there purchasing incentives for electric vehicles?

There are no direct, financial incentives for electric vehicles in Germany.  We recommend consulting a tax professional to validate incentive availability in your country. Several european countries offer incentives for buying an electric vehicles. How can I register my GOVECS electric scooter?

The registration of a GOVECS electric scooter is the same as for petrol scooters. For the models up to 45 km/h (similar to the “50ccm” class) standard liability insurance is required. The model in the class similar to the “125ccm” (GO! S/T 3.5 and GO! S/T 3.6) has to be registered and insured as it is for a car.

Why are no regenerative brakes being used in GOVECS electric scooters?

The regenerative brake recovers energy when braking and gives it back as electricity. For cars this makes perfectly sense, because they got enough weight for using this effect. Since the GOVECS electric scooters are much lighter, the effect would not make a measurable difference.

How does the charging curve happen at electric scooters? How does the charging curve look like?

To not damage the battery cells, the battery starts charging slowly, until the minimal tension is reached. Afterwards the charging speed is boosted to its maximum speed. For the last section of the process, the charging speed drops again. That is why the charging curve is never linear.

How big is the climbing ability of a GOVECS electric scooter?

When used by one person the climbing ability is up to 18%.

Why we need a new way of thinking

Mobility is undergoing change. In the year 2030, 60% of the world’s population will be living in urban areas. The ever growing residential density, the increasing traffic volume and the increase in CO2 emissions associated therewith make clean and efficient transport solutions necessary. It is required to establish a new way of thinking and innovative mobility concepts in order to ensure clean inner cities and a healthier urban life. The car that used to be the status symbol of personal freedom will be gradually expelled from the cities and replaced by new mobility concepts. E-mobility will contribute considerably to the so-called “Green Cities“. Even though the idea of electric vehicles is not really new as such, the time is right and there is high demand to revive this technology, which has been developed already at the beginning of the 20th century, for instance in electric scooters.
